Days...

Days turn into weeks then months then years...
Where does time go???

Ecclesiastes 3 says:

1 To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:

A time to be born,
    And a time to die;
A time to plant,
    And a time to pluck what is planted;

A time to kill,
    And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
    And a time to build up;

A time to weep,
    And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
    And a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones,
    And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
    And a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to gain,
    And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
    And a time to throw away;

A time to tear,
    And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
    And a time to speak;

A time to love,
    And a time to hate;
A time of war,
    And a time of peace.

What profit has the worker from that in which he labors?

10 I have seen the God-given task with which the sons of men are to be occupied.

11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.

12 I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives,

13 and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor—it is the gift of God.

14 I know that whatever God does,
It shall be forever.
Nothing can be added to it,
And nothing taken from it.
God does it, that men should fear before Him.

15 That which is has already been,
And what is to be has already been;
And God requires an account of what is past.

16 Moreover I saw under the sun:
In the place of judgment,
Wickedness was there;
And in the place of righteousness,
Iniquity was there.

17 I said in my heart,
“God shall judge the righteous and the wicked,
For there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.”

18 I said in my heart, “Concerning the condition of the sons of men, God tests them, that they may see that they themselves are like animals.”

19 For what happens to the sons of men also happens to animals; one thing befalls them: as one dies, so dies the other. Surely, they all have one breath; man has no advantage over animals, for all is vanity.

20 All go to one place: all are from the dust, and all return to dust.

21 Who knows the spirit of the sons of men, which goes upward, and the spirit of the animal, which goes down to the earth?

22 So I perceived that nothing is better than that a man should rejoice in his own works, for that is his heritage. For who can bring him to see what will happen after him?

Is It?....

Cowardice asks the question: is it safe?
Expediency asks the question: is it politic?
Vanity asks the question: is it popular?
But conscience asks the question: is it right?
 And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor
popular but one must take it because it's right.

Priorities

I didn't clean the main bathroom,
But I did clean/ clean out the half bath.

I didn't read a book or take a shower,
But I made homemade dinner of chicken and dumplings.

I didn't walk on the treadmill,
But I did finish a chapter in science.

I didn't sew or work on the computer,
But I went on a date with my Dad.

I didn't make the last 2 Christmas gifts,
But I wrapped what I already have to give.

I didn't finish finding that perfect gift for my sunshine,
But I did enjoy read aloud.

I didn't do the ironing,
But I did set the table and make it pretty with candles and the nice plates.

I will always have time to read a book, I can take that shower before bed and the gift can wait. The bathroom was dirty for one day it can stay dirty for another night.

What really matters is my time with my family.

Why do we always want to learn stuff the hard way?
 Our parents tell us over an over to be a servant and love our siblings, But we are too mule headed and arrogant to try to understand...

That is till God says HEY YOU I"VE BEEN TALKING HERE!

I was reading a book about cleaning your house by starting with your sink by the F.L.Y. Lady.
She said don't be a martyr and act like you are too good to do someone else chores, or put away someone else dishes.
YOU are the one who needs to be the servant and not worry about the other person.
DON'T keep score.
It's not (!) a contest to see who can have the most points for fair share!
Then on Monday night Dad was taking about the variation of the Greek word love and how it can have 4 different meanings. (look that one up! =D)
When Dad came to the verse Matthew 5:38-48...
You know how you've read that same verse a million times and it then it seems to tell you something different one time?
This was that one time.

Matthew 5:38-42 says Go the Second Mile
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. 40 If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. 41 And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. 42 Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away."
It was verse 42 that hit me.. like a semi truck it hit me.

"Give to him who asks you,.." that means when someone ask for your seat give it to him.. If you are asked to take out the trash even though it is someone else job do it. Without complaining or arguing...
"and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away." So loan out your favorite movie, and your books.

Even now sitting here with my now cold peppermint tea I find something else. Verse 40 says, "If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also."
See? I had been wondering in the back of my head what does the bible say about suing? Well, there you have it. My little God breezes for the day.

Saying Grace

“You say grace before meals. All right. But I say grace before the concert and the opera, and grace before the play and pantomime, and grace before I open a book, and grace before sketching, painting, swimming, fencing, boxing, walking, playing, dancing and grace before I dip the pen in the ink.” ~GK Chesterton~
